Conversations on programs

We have technical and general discussiions and we have program descriptions. Sometimes program desccriptions can be misleading or not give you enough information. Sometimes there are specila programs or series that we should discuss, not for technical considerations, but on the program itself.
There could be discussions on audience reaction or any other discussion. Maybe there is an organization in town that wants a program viewed. It could be for any reason.
Maybe it could be "Program Discussion"

I agree Bob. Originally this
I agree Bob. Originally this was why the "VMX User's Group" was created, to promote conversation about programming that was not technical in nature. The "VMX User's Group" was discontinued in favor of keeping the dialogue confined to the "VMX User's Forum" to build on the searchable knowledge base involving all things VMX. I think creating a forum more specific to VMX programming would be very useful. I'll see what we can do.
FWIW, I think this General
FWIW, I think this General Discussion is the place for this kind of conversation. I think there are a few technical posts in the General forum which should not be. Anything related to using the VMX app should be in the tech forum. Anything about programs or content or permissions or CC should go in the General. JMHO.

It seems to me we have two
It seems to me we have two problems:
the first is that the Program Description field in the VMX app is not designed for discussion (nor should it be). So, it is often difficult to get out useful information about content such as time sensitivity, relevance to organizations and/or specific regions of the state etc. Also the brief description often does not attract the attention to the program that perhaps it should.
There also seems to be the issue of General Discussion becoming a "catch all" for posts. If we break it down and try to get just a bit more specific with forum topics, posts will likely land in the right forum and users won't have to scroll through an unnecessary number of posts to find desired threads. I'm not suggesting we divide the forum into 20 topics or even 5. But if one were to be devoted to content I think it would be very helpful.

I agree. The VMX has great programming. Also our producers could use feedback from the programs that are aired. It would be helpful if they knew they were aried and what people thought of the programs. This might encourage more local producers to put programs on the VMX.

I try to put information into the description pane that will really make someone want to download the program; "advertising." In the case of a series, sometimes an individual episode may not be relevant for a particular area, so the downloading entity would want to know that.
