Audio problem on vmx downloads

I  am having audio problems   with all programs on VMX downloads.  Audio level is consistently low and there's   slight  distortion in the background.   Can anybody help me with this?    thank you!    (we've on Telvue system)  Mary,  NEAT, Bristol

Mary, have you checked the files with a meter? One way you can do it is to pull the audio from the file using Quicktime, then bring the AIFF file into FCP and use the audio meter there. Before we can check if it's a VMX issue, we have to know if the files are okay coming down the pipeline. Then we can look at your server settings and see what's going on.

It's rare that the audio is too low. Usually the problem is that they are too high.

How are you judging this right now? During broadcast? From a TelVue preview?
