Apple Mail not working

With Apple Mail open, I keep getting a message saying it can't send the message. I will check all the Mail settings and make sure they are correct, but it might be a problem with the fact that it is an authenticating mail server. Not sure, but I know Apple's Compressor won't send alert emails unless you have an unsecure local mail server. If anyone else is having email notification issues, keep checking back here and I will post as I go through the steps. Or, if someone has already figured this out, please post your solution here. As well, if you're having the same issue, post a little "me too" response to this thread. Keep it in this thread, don't create a new forum topic. Just a reply.
