I have just tested again the settings that Drew and I have been using in Compressor and they transcode fine. You won't be able to playback the MPEG2 files on the VMX machine because Quicktime MPEG2 playback component is not installed on the VMX machine. But VLC player is a free download and should play it fine. If not, try transferring to your server for playout and test it there, but it should be fine. If you still have problems with it, let me know your exact workflow and i will try to find your issue.

FYI that all VMX computers already have VLC installed. VLC will pretty much open anything, so unless you really want to pay Apple $20, just use VLC instead to test out your finished MPEG-2 files.
