Volunteer Videographer Wanted-March 24th, 3:30-6pm
Needed: Videographer who is willing to donate his/her time to help film a culminating student event at the State House in Montpelier, March 24th from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The event will feature the work of six schools from Newfane to Derby Line that have participated in a year of curriculum studies about water in all disciplines. Approximately 120 students from the six model schools that have participated in the Vermont's first Year of Water will attend the event to show the legislators examples of what their year's studies have included. The students have studied water through many different interdisciplinary lenses: dance, art, music, poetry, politics, literature, and the sciences. Students that afternoon will display and talk about their work in the cafeteria of the State House. The afternoon will even include a Water Dance by dance students from Lyndon Institute and a string trio, "Shadows on Water," by a Randolph student. We are including this culminating event in a documentary we are making about the year's studies. The documentary will then be distributed to all schools in Vermont (and hopefully to schools beyond Vermont's borders) so that they, too, can in future years follow the lead of these six schools in bringing water into the curriculum. The entire effort is a non-profit effort, so all participants are working strictly as volunteers.
